[Armadillo Plate] Hybrid IIIA 6x6 Side Plate

Overview

This is a 6x6 inch Hybrid III-A side plate developed in collaboration with Armadillo Plate.
In addition to ballistic protection, it boasts a multifunctional design with anti-knife and anti-stab performance. It is designed and manufactured in Japan with harsh field environments in mind.

Features

While typical soft armor offers protection against handgun rounds, it can be vulnerable to sharp blades and ice-pick-like attacks. This product employs a unique hybrid structure combining special metal plates, achieving both NIJ IIIA equivalent ballistic performance and anti-knife/anti-stab capabilities.

Inside, special manganese steel plates are arranged like armor. Despite being metal, they flexibly adapt to body movements and restore their original shape after being subjected to external force. This achieves both a defense performance close to traditional hard plates and high mobility.

The ballistic layer uses high-density "6UD material" to reduce damage to the body from shockwaves and backface deformation (BFS) upon impact. Furthermore, a built-in shock-absorbing material on the back enhances wearing comfort and shock absorption performance.

The plate fixing section uses ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene thread, which has greater strength than typical Kevlar thread. This reduces the risk of plate scattering upon impact, improving durability and reliability.

Additionally, details are incorporated to account for real-world usage environments, such as weather resistance through waterproofing, noise reduction from internal sponges, and heat resistance from flame-retardant materials.
